Eau colorée à Lingulodinium polyedrum (Stein) Dodge, dans une zone aquacole du littoral du Doukkala (Atlantique marocain) ArchiMer
Bennouna, A; Berland, B; El Attar, J; Assobhei, O.
A red tide of Lingulodinium polyedrum occured along the moroccan atlantic coast in july 1999. Observed in the beginning of the month in the Kenitra area, it spreads with the coastal drift as far as the south of safi, passing on its way upon a sanitary monitored area. This area which is submitted to an all year round bimonthly monitoring analysis of phytoplankton, contains significant natural beds of oysters, clams and mussels, as well as shellfish farms in Oualidia and Sidi Moussa lagoons. However, during this period of bloom, there was weekly monitoring of hydrologic and climatic data associated with phytoplankton analysis to identify the causes of this bloom. This bloom occured in 17-18degreesC surface waters, temperatures which are favourable to...

Immersed hollow fibres microfiltration (MF) for removing undesirable micro-algae and protecting semi-closed aquaculture basins ArchiMer
Castaing, Jean-baptiste; Masse, A.; Sechet, Veronique; Sabiri, N. -e.; Pontie, M.; Haure, Joel; Jaouen, P..
In this study, an original use of immersed microfiltration membranes (mean pore size equal to 0.2 mu m) is investigated for the total removal of toxic dinoflagellates from seawater. Using a membrane autopsy and fouling model approach and the use of fouling indexes (called Pore Blocking Index, Pore Constriction Index and Cake Filtration Index), three dinoflagellate suspensions (Heterocapsa triquetra, Alexandrium minutum and Prorocentrum lima) have been microfiltered in order to study the influence of micro-algal species and its concentrations (1,000 and 30,000 cells/mL) on filtration yield and membrane fouling mechanisms. Results showed that all micro-algae have been retained after 180 min of microfiltration. At 30,000 cells/mL, permeate fluxes declined...

SATELLITE MONITORING, METEOROLOGICAL AND OCEANOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS FOR RED TIDE IN THE KOREAN COASTAL WATERS Gayana
Yoon,Hong-Joo; Jeong,Jong-chul; Suh,Young-Sang.
It was studied the relationship between the red tide occurrence and the meteorological factors, and the satellite monitoring for red tide. From 1990 through 2001, the red tide continuously appeared and the number of red tide occurrence increased every year. A common condition for the red tide occurrence was heavy precipitation 2~4 days earlier, and the favorable conditions for the red tide formation were high air temperature, proper sunshine and light winds for the day in red tide occurrence. From satellite images, it was possible to monitor the spatial distributions and concentrations of red tide

STATISTICAL ANALYSES WITH METEOROLOGICAL FACTORS, AND APPLICATIONS OF RS AND GIS TECHNIQUES FOR RED TIDE FORMATION IN THE KOREAN COASTAL WATERS Gayana
Yoon,Hong-Joo; Cho,Han-keun; Byun,Hye-Kyung.
It was studied on the choice of potential area for red tide occurrence from oceanographic factors. Oceanographic factors of favorable marine environmental conditions for the red tide formation included warm water temperature, low salinity, high suspended solid, low phosphorus, low nitrogen. It was founded the potential areas for red tide occurrence in August 2000 by GIS conception: Yeosu~Dolsan coast, Gamak bay, Namhae coast, Marado coast, Goheung coast, Deukryang bay, respectively

Многолетняя динамика цветения микроводорослей в прибрежной зоне Одесского залива (Чёрное море). IBSS Repository
Теренько, Л. М.; Теренько, Г. В..
